At the University of Cambridge, we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, including refugees, asylum seekers and those from forced migration backgrounds.
We are a diverse, international community, and the city of Cambridge is proud to hold City of Sanctuary status.
We recognise that you may have experienced barriers and difficulties in accessing education, and you may have specific concerns when considering or starting university. It's important to us that you feel supported during this time.
We hope that the resources below are useful for your application.
Resources and support
- If you've studied outside the UK, check our International qualifications page to see if we can accept your qualifications. If they don’t meet our minimum requirements, contact the department directly to explain your circumstances and to check if they can consider an application from you.
- The Rowan Williams Cambridge Studentship is a full-cost scholarship for applicants facing severe barriers to higher education.
- Applicants with asylum seeker, refugee or humanitarian protection status are eligible for an application fee waiver.
- If you are unsure of your fee status, you can find advice from the UK Council for International Student Affairs.
- You may also wish to visit the Student Action for Refugees (STAR) scholarship list.
